"There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters,
who never did, who won't anymore, and who always will &
in the end you learn who is fake,
who is true and who would risk it all for you.
"

I read this today somewhere and it really hit a nerve. I think as we get older, we can differentiate between false friends and true friends better. But it does seem harder to make new friends. We tend to walk in the same circle and not move out of bounds, and by doing so, limit ourselves to only what we know - no new experiences or outsiders to let in. We need to stretch those boundaries and find out what's out there. What people and/or experiences are yet to be found, discovered and enjoyed.

Old friends that return to our lives are very important too. Those people who made that big impression, how did they slip away. Those who were so dear to us, we couldn't breathe without them...how did we breathe without them? The days that pass, then the years that pass....without them....how did that happen?

I can only be grateful for those that I have in my life now and be hopeful for those that are yet to return to further enrich my life. Those that can make me smile by the simplest of comments. Those that recover that memory that was once forgotten. Those that warm your heart and free your soul....those friends are good friends to share our lives with again. Don't screw up and lose them again.

Catching UP With OLD, Good Friends

I have found that through Facebook one can find friends that they thought they had lost. Important people, who held important places in our lives, but have somehow been left behind. I have had the most amazing conversations with long lost friends. And we chat as though we have never been apart. It is so refreshing. It brings a twinkle to my eye and a smile to my face- warms my heart. I don't know how we lose them. I don't know how the days pass without them in it. How do we move away from them?

I cannot answer these questions. I can only be ever so grateful that the world has chosen to spin round and move them back into focus, back into my universe. Now, the trick, to keep them in that lens and not let them slip out of the picture again.

Attitude

...Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think, say or do. It is more important than appearance, gift, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.

Alone

Today has been very hard.
It seems like I can't ever do enough.
Be enough.
Accomplish enough.
There are never enough hours in the day.
Never enough moments.
Never enough breaths to take.
This feeling of inadequacy is overwhelming.

What I think is worse though is the "loneliness".
Feeling so alone and not being able to talk to anyone; nor having anyone to talk to.
No one to call.
It's disheartening.
It seems that the world is spinning around and around and around and I'm just standing there. Alone.
So very alone.
Endlessly ALONE.
